Job description

Scope: The incumbent will lead, manage and inspire a team of sales professionals to create meaningful, measurable connections and experiences with their customers, in order to support revenue growth and sales strategy. The ideal candidate is a trailblazer with a proven track record in sales development, profitability and growth; an innovative thinker who understands that success stems from motivating high performance teams through goal setting, metrics and recognition; and a progressive, creative and sales-driven individual with a true passion for travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the success and growth of a significant sales portfolio and target existing and new agency partner relationships
  • Evaluate current trends, competitive activity, economic factors and continuous change in the market in order to develop definitive and actionable plans to build profitable growth
  • Manage multiple brand agency partnerships on behalf of – and hand-in-hand with – the sales team, with the backing of a leading iconic Canadian airline and tour operator
  • Bring together a motivated and determined Air Canada Vacations sales team to create mutually beneficial travel agency partnerships that will result in increased sales and enhanced partner and customer experiences
  • Spot opportunities when there is alignment with our partners and their goals and objectives
  • Inspire new connections, build partnerships and drive new net revenue opportunities for managed agency partners and Air Canada Vacations
Requirements


Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration coupled with minimum 10 years of experience, ideally in tourism, sales or working with tour operators, with a proven track record in year over year revenue growth and team management

Business acumen and attention to detail

Ability to inspire confidence, approach and manage a sales team, and work with key internal stakeholders

Ability to cultivate and manage strong long-term travel partnerships

Ability to forecast accurately based on pipeline and intel on market conditions

Strong prospecting and business development skills

Collaborative and data-driven sales approach

Excellent communicator and team player

A strategic, entrepreneurial and visionary thinker

Ability to work well under pressure

Willing to travel to visit agency partners
